EXPERIENCE:

The foundation of Moir Park’s alternative asset management experience began during Wayzata Investment Partner’s first year of operation. The principals have invested over $3.0 billion of capital across the alternative asset sector, real estate and private equity platforms since 2005. The team has invested across the capital structure in a number of industries including real estate, equipment, oil and gas, metals and mining, aerospace and defense, paper and packaging, gaming, tax liens and litigation finance.

Matthew Schliep

Managing Partner

Mr. Schliep is the founder and Managing Partner of Moir Park Capital and the key principal behind the creation of the Moir Park Industrial flagship funds. His career in private equity started in 2005 with Wayzata Investment Partners, a Minneapolis, Minnesota based $8 billion alternative private equity manager. His experience includes managing and investing over $1.5 billion across various alternative investment strategies including real estate and real estate backed assets, distressed debt, and other private equity platforms. He has served on multiple boards including Neff Rentals, one of the largest equipment rental companies in the U.S. prior to it being acquired by United Rentals. Prior to founding Moir Park, Matthew Schliep created a private industrial REIT where he sourced, underwrote and executed the strategy. Mr. Schliep has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bradley University.

Sam Dosch

Prior to joining Moir Park in 2018, Mr. Dosch worked as an Investment Analyst at First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE: FR) in Chicago.  During his time at First Industrial, Mr. Dosch oversaw the underwriting and approval process of new industrial developments, acquisitions and dispositions across a national portfolio. Prior to FR, Mr. Dosch worked as a Valuation Analyst at Colliers International in Minneapolis, specializing in retail, office, industrial and multifamily appraisals throughout the upper Midwest and prior to that was a Valuation Analyst at the Shenehon Company in Minneapolis. Mr. Dosch graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Studies.

Jill Retrum

Prior to joining Moir Park, Ms. Retrum worked at Okabena as an Investment Administrator.  She worked with the Investment team to reconcile and monitor daily cash, facilitate monthly investment valuation, and update filings and other compliance activities with each Investment Manager.  Prior to that she worked at Merced Capital as a Senior Accountant preparing and reconciling monthly, quarterly, and annual Fund financials.  She worked closely with the investment team as the primary accountant and liaison on various domestic and foreign real estate deals.  Prior to Merced, Ms. Retrum spent 10 years at Wayzata Investment Partners as both a Fund and Corporate accountant.  Ms. Retrum graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
